What's new

    • Race pages work better on a phone: the Choose buttons and the section name stay at the top as you scroll, and each candidate has its own clear label and colour.
    • The money view is simpler: a colour key, the small and large donor totals, and the top named groups where we have them.
    • Choose and Skip work again on federal races when you reach them from your ballot.
    • Free pages no longer show buttons that do nothing.
    • The Dallas County and Pine County sample ballots now show background facts for more candidates, including all the Dallas judges.
    • The Harris County sample ballot now shows background facts for every candidate, including all the judges.
    • Fixed a rare problem where typing your address could hang instead of falling back to the standard ballot lookup.
    • Dallas County now has a sample ballot, with race pages that load just like Harris County.
    • Public race pages now load only the overview. The detailed research no longer goes to your browser.
    • Public race pages no longer have "see more" buttons or a Side by side button.
    • The next-day page now says how much it costs to get your ballot sooner: $4–$30, depending on how long your ballot is.
    • In Wisconsin and parts of Florida (Charlotte, Manatee, Polk and Marion counties), you can now type your address to pull your sample ballot.
    • Race cards are shorter, with the same rows in the same order. See a small chart of who pays and how lawmakers voted on top issues.
    • On the print page, the support card is now right below the first line. It says "People keep it going".
    • Try a sample ballot free: see a real ballot before you buy.
    • It is a real Pine City, MN sample ballot, with no address, no upload and no payment.
    • Each race now shows who pays for the candidates first, then what they've done, side by side on one screen.
    • Candidates without names showing now appear in a mixed order, so the order gives nothing away.
    • See every dataset side by side now shows two real columns.
