Terms of Use

What we promise, and what we can't.

Effective October 23, 2026 · Grey Bird Flies LLC

Agreement to These Terms

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Grey Bird Flies LLC, doing business as Voter Choice (“Voter Choice,” “we,” or “us”). By using Voter Choice, clicking “OK” on our first-visit notice, creating an account, or checking the box at checkout, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Voter Choice.

Who Can Use Voter Choice

Voter Choice is intended for people in the United States. You must be at least 13 years old to use the free features. You must be at least 18 years old to buy a Membership, make a support payment, or buy Ballot Research, and by doing so you confirm that you are.

Research Purposes Only

Election information provided by Voter Choice is for research purposes only. This tool is designed to help you explore what's on your ballot, not to serve as an official source of election information.

Verify with Official Sources

Always verify all dates, deadlines, polling locations, and requirements with your official state or county election website. Election rules and dates can change. Your state's Secretary of State website is the authoritative source.

AI Can Make Mistakes

Some research and summaries on Voter Choice are made with AI. AI can make mistakes, hallucinate facts, or provide outdated information. Always check critical information — such as registration deadlines, voter ID requirements, and polling locations — against official sources before acting on it. AI responses are generated automatically, do not reflect the views of Voter Choice, and are not a recommendation for how to vote. The same cautions apply to any AI-assisted summaries or candidate research on Voter Choice.

Not Affiliated with Government

Voter Choice is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any government agency, campaign, political party, or candidate. This is an independent, nonpartisan tool built to help voters research their ballot.

Copy-and-Paste Prompt

Where offered, you can copy a prompt we provide into any AI chatbot you choose. Those chatbots are provided by third parties under their own terms and privacy policies, and Voter Choice is not responsible for them.

Election Data Updates

We update election data periodically. Check the ‘Data last updated’ date shown on the site. If an election is approaching and the data looks outdated, verify directly with your state election office.

No Warranty; Limits on Liability

VOTER CHOICE, INCLUDING ALL FREE AND PAID FEATURES, IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT PROMISE THAT ELECTION, CANDIDATE, OR OFFICEHOLDER INFORMATION WILL BE COMPLETE, CURRENT, OR ERROR-FREE.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GREY BIRD FLIES LLC WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS RESULTING FROM RELIANCE ON INFORMATION PROVIDED THROUGH VOTER CHOICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO VOTER CHOICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE OR (B) $100. THIS SECTION DOES NOT LIMIT ANY REFUND PROMISED IN THESE TERMS. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN OF THESE LIMITS, SO THEY MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

Founding Member Presale

Founding Member is sold by Grey Bird Flies LLC, doing business as Voter Choice. When you buy it, you reserve one prepaid year of Membership, a paid service that is not live yet. Paying does not give you access to anything new today.

Price. $36 (U.S. dollars), plus any applicable taxes, charged once at checkout. The founding rate is limited to the first 100 purchases. Refunded purchases still count toward the 100, so a refunded place is not offered to someone else.

When your year starts. Your prepaid year starts on the day Membership launches, not the day you pay. We will email you when it starts. “Live” means you can sign in, pick your issues, and get emails on your representatives’ votes.

What’s included. While your subscription stays active, Founding Member includes every feature of the membership tier, including features added to that tier later, at no extra cost. We may also offer separate products or tiers (for example, for journalists or for users who need deeper data) at their own prices. Those are not part of the Founding Member tier.

Automatic renewal. Founding Member is a yearly subscription that renews automatically. Unless you cancel, it renews each year at $36, plus any applicable taxes, charged to the payment method on file, starting when your prepaid year ends. Nothing more is charged before Membership launches or during your prepaid year. At checkout, you must check a box confirming that you are 18 or older, that you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy, and that you understand the subscription renews every year at $36 unless you cancel. We will also email you a reminder before each renewal, stating the renewal date, the amount, and how to cancel. Your founding rate lasts as long as your subscription stays active; canceling ends it. If a renewal payment fails and is not resolved within 14 days after we notify you, your subscription and your founding rate will end.

Canceling and refunds. You can cancel online at any time, in a few clicks, through the “Manage or cancel subscription” link in your account or in any billing email from us. You can also email support@voterchoice.vote. If you cancel before Membership launches, we refund your full $36 payment, including any sales tax, automatically within 10 business days. After Membership launches, canceling stops your next renewal; you keep access until the end of the year you paid for, and unused time is not refunded.

Our launch promise. If Membership is not live by January 31, 2027, we refund every payment you made, automatically, and your subscription will end. Features listed on the Membership roadmap without a date are not part of the definition of “live” and are not covered by this promise.

Payment. Stripe processes payments on its own pages. Stripe’s own terms and privacy policy apply to its processing. Questions about a purchase: support@voterchoice.vote.

Ballot Upload and Ballot Research

Uploading a ballot. You can upload a copy of your blank sample ballot (for example, a photo or PDF from your county) so we can identify the races on it. Upload only a blank sample ballot. Do not upload a ballot you have marked, or any page showing your name, address, signature, voter ID number or barcode. We may reject or delete any upload that appears to contain this information.

Free processing. Free uploads are processed in the order received, which can take time. We will email you when your ballot is ready.

Fast processing and Ballot Research. For a one-time fee shown before you pay, plus any applicable taxes, we will process your ballot faster and add background research on candidates in races we do not yet cover. This is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and it does not renew. Research may be prepared with the help of AI tools and is subject to the “AI Can Make Mistakes” and “No Warranty; Limits on Liability” sections. The fee is non-refundable once your ballot is processed. At the time of purchase, you will be provided with an expected processing time for your paid submission; if we are not able to honor the expected processing time, then upon request, we will issue a refund for the fees paid for the fast-processing feature.

Sharing with other voters. The list of races on your ballot, and any research we prepare (including research you paid for), may be added to our shared ballot for your area so other voters with the same ballot can use it. We never share your name, email address or uploaded file with other users.

Permission to use your upload. By uploading, you confirm that you have the right to share the file, and you allow us to use it, and the information we take from it, to provide and improve Voter Choice, including sharing the list of races and research with other users as described above.

Acceptable Use

When using Voter Choice, you agree not to: (a) scrape, copy or download our content in bulk, or use automated tools to access the site, except as we expressly allow; (b) resell Voter Choice content or use it for commercial purposes, including to solicit contributions or donations; (c) upload anything unlawful or anything you do not have the right to share; (d) use Voter Choice to harass or threaten any candidate, official or voter; or (e) interfere with, or try to get around, the security or usage limits of Voter Choice. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms. If we unilaterally end a paid subscription for any reason other than your breaking these Terms, we will refund the unused part of any prepaid period.

Our Content

Voter Choice, including its software, design, text, and our selection and presentation of information, is owned by Grey Bird Flies LLC or its licensors. Public records and government data remain public. We give you a personal, non-commercial, non-transferable right to use Voter Choice under these Terms. If you send us ideas or suggestions (for example, through the Founding Member issues form), we may use them without any obligation to you.

Privacy

How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms with a new effective date. If a change materially affects paid subscribers, we will email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. A change will not raise your founding rate while your subscription stays active. If you keep using Voter Choice after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms.

Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute relating to these Terms or Voter Choice will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Harris County, Texas and you and we consent to those courts. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small-claims court.

General

These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about Voter Choice. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms; we may transfer ours in connection with a merger, sale or reorganization. Sections that by their nature should survive (including No Warranty; Limits on Liability, Our Content, and Governing Law and Disputes) survive the end of these Terms.
